Before sending your screenplay to agents, producers, film executives, or screenwriting contests get it into the best shape possible. You only get one first impression.
Most script reading services give you a general story analysis (known as coverage). That's good for agents or producers who don't read scripts, but this is only marginally helpful to the writer who's looking to improve his/her script.
I lead you through each scene to find what works and what needs improvement through story, plot, character, dialogue, description, structure, conflict, goals, motivation, tone, inner/external conflict, etc. I even rewrite a bit of description and dialogue here and there to give an example on how it can be improved.
For the last couple years I've been writing, rewriting, and analyzing screenplays for writers, actors, directors, and producers. I've worked on writing or rewriting over 30 screenplays to date and I've read over 3,000 screenplays as a script analyst and for screenwriting contests.
SCREENPLAY ANALYSIS RESULTS: I did an extremely detailed analysis of a script for a writer and they won $10,000 in the L.A. Comedy Scripts Screenplay Competition. I spent an hour and a half on their first page alone to help smooth out the kinks. I also analyzed a script for a writer then helped them rewrite the dialogue and they recently acquired one million dollars toward making their film. I did an analysis for a director and helped rewrite the screenplay and that script was recently shot and is in post. And finally, I performed an analysis for a writer who has written movies that have made in the 100s of millions of dollars.
