Mechani-Co offers mobile auto repair in the greater Sacramento area. I went to auto/diesel mechanic school twenty years ago and have been employed as a mechanic since. I also served in the U.S. Army as a Helicopter Powertrain Mechanic. I recently started my own mobile auto repair company (Mechani-Co) and am trying to "get it off the ground". I offer my services at a much lower hourly rate than repair shops or the dealership. I charge $40 per hour and I go by how long the "automotive industry book" says a perticular job should take. For "odd" jobs that are not listed in the labor-time guide, I will just go on a case-by-case basis.
Although the majority of my experience is with heavy-duty "big rig" type equipment, I am more than capable of performing most "common" repairs on automobiles. Jobs such as brakes, timing belt/chains, water pumps, belts, hoses, alternators, radiators, lights, windshield wipers not working, shocks/struts or anything else that needs fixed or replaced. I do not have the electronic equipment needed to do engine diagnostics (for automobiles)... Therefore, I DO NOT do any sort of engine driveabilty troubleshooting- So if your check engine light is on or if your vehicle just isn't running right... you would probably be better off taking it to a shop that has the software needed to "plug into" your vehicles control module (aka- it's BRAIN). Sorry for that. I also offer "pre-purchase inspections". So if you're looking to purchase a vehicle, I can inspect it for you before you buy it so you know whether or not the vehicle is a "lemon". Even on the nicest cars... I can always find the little things that all vehicles experience. This always gets the other person to drop their price significantly! For fifty dollars, I will inspect a vehicle your interested in buying which will get you the vehicle for (usually) hundreds of dollars less.
